Lokendra Singh was the son of former Rajasthan minister Kalyan Singh Kalvi, who at that time was the Chief Minister in the Rajasthan government when Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was the Chief Minister and was the Agriculture Minister.

In the year 2008, Lokendra Singh Kalvi joined the Congress Party with the hope that he would get a ticket but the Congress Party did not give him a ticket, so he joined the Congress Party in the year 2018. In 2014, he joined the Bahujan Samaj Party shortly before the Lok Sabha elections.

After Jats got the benefit of reservation in the year 1999, Lokendra Singh tried to unite the people of his society in the name of quota. And along with Suresh Mishra, President of Sarv Brahman Mahasabha and Devi Singh Bhati, he established Social Justice Front.

Its demand was that the poor families of the upper class should also get the benefit of reservation. In the year 2003, in the Vidhanbha Election, the Social Justice Front took the form of a political party. This party fielded 60 candidates in the assembly elections. But only 1 candidate out of these won and that too Devi Singh Bhati.

After some time, Lokendra Singh separated from Devi Singh Bhati and joined BJP again. And in the year 2006, he established Shri Karni Sena. After this, Lokendra Singh became a self-proclaimed leader.

In 2008, he left BJP and joined Congress to succeed in politics. But due to not getting a ticket, he left Congress and after some time joined Bahujan Samaj Party. He contested from Barmer-Jaisalmer seat in 2014 Lok Sabha elections but lost.

In 2006, Lokendra Singh Kalvi founded Karni Sena in the name of Jagatjanani Karni Mata. In 2008, due to the strong opposition of Karni Sena, the film Jodha Akbar could not be released in the theaters of Rajasthan. In the year 2009, Karni Sena also opposed Dabang Khan’s film Veer.

As soon as the news of his death was received, Karni Sena workers started arriving. His body will be kept in Rajput Sabha Bhawan in Jaipur for the last darshan, after which his last rites will be performed in Kalvi, his native village in Nagaur.
