IAS Anu Kumari Educational Qualification
Anu Kumari completed her early education from Shiva Shiksha Sadan in Sonipat. After this, she went to Delhi for higher education. She was admitted to the Hindu College of Delhi University and successfully obtained a BSc Honors degree from there. After this, she was admitted to IMT Nagpur and obtained an MBA degree.
Anu Kumari had told in an interview that when she was admitted to Hindu College, she used to travel up and down from Sonipat to Delhi by train every day. She left the comfort of the hostel and chose a life of daily hustle and bustle.

After working in the private sector for about 10 years, she left the job in 2016 and started preparing for civil services.
Anu Kumari UPSC Journey
- Anu’s UPSC journey was difficult. Uncle told her many times about going into civil services and in 2016, he quietly got her to fill out the UPSC exam form by asking Anu’s brother. Anu worked hard for a month and took the exam. And she missed the cut-off list by just 1 mark.
- Anu had made up her mind to prepare for the UPSC exam and left her job for Rs 20 lakh. This time was very difficult for Anu.
- During their college days, Anu’s friends used to talk about taking the UPSC exam but at that time Anu’s family’s financial condition was not good due to her having to leave all this.
- At the time of preparing for UPSC, her son was only four years old. It was very difficult to prepare along with taking care of the son. So she sent her son to her mother. And started studying with full dedication.
- It was a very difficult time for Anu to study away from her son for two years but Anu accepted this challenge and kept her goal set. Both of them would cry a lot after meeting their son’s little one but it was necessary to give up all this.
- Waking up at 4 am every day and study, watch the Rajya Sabha channel in my free time, prepare for about 10-12 hours throughout the day, and sleep at 10 pm at night.
- After two years of hard work and focusing on the syllabus, she secured the second position in the second attempt in the year 2017. And by becoming an IAS she proved that “When you wake up, it is morning”

Anu Kumari is a 2018 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre. Currently, she is posted as Sub Collector and District Development Commissioner of Kannur.
